WHEN TO SEE A UROLOGIST

Dear patients, we are pleased to inform you that our clinic now offers urology visits. A urologist is a doctor who specialises in diagnosing, preventing and treating disorders of the genitourinary tract. Both women and men can see a urologist. The doctors provide comprehensive medical care for diseases of the ureter, bladder, kidneys and urethra. The urologists also deal with the male reproductive system disorders. Urology does not only deal with the diagnostic aspects of therapy, but is also a surgical specialty. The doctors, thus, also perform surgeries, which can be aimed at removal of different abnormalities, as well as congenital and acquired aesthetic defects. When should you visit a urologist? Signs that you should see a urologist:

  • groin pain (including when urinating), lower abdominal pain, perineum pain, low back pain;
  • urinary incontinence;
  • blood and pus in the urine;
  • rare and frequent urination;
  • inability to perform sexual intercourse;
  • prolonged erection at night

The patient may be referred to a urologist if the following diseases are suspected: prostatitis, prostate adenoma, bladder and kidney diseases, genitourinary tract infections, infertility, pyelonephritis, cystitis, vesiculitis, polycystic kidney disease, erectile dysfunction and other disorders. You should see a doctor even if you feel healthy. Urology consultations are performed as part of the annual physical examination. Important! If you have a history of genitourinary tract disorders, you should see the urologist more often. The frequency of check-ups is determined by the doctor. Dear patients, if you have noticed the above symptoms, or you are a married couple who is planning a pregnancy, we invite you to our Berehynia Medical Center, where we provide a comprehensive and complete examination for both partners.
