ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND

Abdominal ultrasound is an imaging test that allows evaluating the organs inside the abdomen and facilitates the diagnostic procedures for doctors. The abdominal ultrasound includes:

• liver;
• kidneys;
• adrenal glands;
• pancreas;
• spleen;

You should get an abdominal ultrasound if you experience the following symptoms:

• abdominal or flank pain, accompanied by general weakness;
• excessive flatulence;
• stomach heaviness;
• bitter taste in the mouth after eating;
• belching, heartburn and nausea;
• decreased or loss of appetite;
• pain in the lower back;
• discomfort when urinating.

Previously diagnosed kidney diseases, hormonal imbalance, diabetes and cancer are also reasons for a check-up. An abdominal ultrasound shows:

• inflammation of different systems and tissues;
• formation of polyps, cysts, cancer tumours;
• cholecystitis (gallbladder and kidney stones);
• consequences of injuries of different types (caused by falls, contusions, during sports activities).
