Main/ Services/ Dermatology/ Removal of warts, nevi and skin growths

This procedure is aimed at removing various skin defects and neoplasms that may be aesthetically unattractive or pose a certain medical risk.

We offer the opportunity to get rid of this problem quickly, painlessly, safely and effectively in the dermatologist’s office of our Berehynia Medical Center.

Warts are small skin growths that are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear in the form of nodules or lumps that protrude above the surface of the skin on any part of the body and create discomfort. Warts are usually round in shape, spread quickly and can grow and change shape. If mechanically damaged, they can become painful and bleed. If treated incorrectly, they can leave scars on the skin or develop into malignant tumors.

Nevi or moles are benign skin growths consisting of pigmented cells (melanocytes). They look like a flat spot or a raised pea grain. They vary in colour from skin-coloured to dark brown and can be of different sizes and shapes. Some nevi may be congenital or appear over time.

Removal of moles may be necessary for both cosmetic and medical reasons, since due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation and other adverse conditions they can turn into a malignant tumour.

Skin growths include various types of skin tumours such as lipomas (fatty lumps), fibromas (fibrous tumours), cysts, angiomas (vascular tumours) and others.

These growths can be painful, uncomfortable or aesthetically unattractive.

For the removal procedure, our doctors use an electrocoagulation technique (using high-frequency current) with the help of FOTEK device, which is considered one of the most advanced high frequency surgical devices in the treatment of many diseases.

This is an atraumatic method of cutting and coagulation of soft tissues using high-frequency waves. The use of this technique ensures maximum safety and effectiveness, as it allows the doctor making an even cut without damaging adjacent tissues. Its use is not accompanied by swelling, as well as postoperative inflammation and bleeding.

If necessary, the removed lesion is sent for histological examination.

It is important to follow the doctor’s recommendations after the removal of any skin defects or growths on how to care of the site after the procedure to improve healing and reduce the risk of scarring or other complications.
